Trump Calls San Diego Mosque Shooting a “Terrible Situation"

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump described the deadly shooting at the Islamic Center of San Diego as a “terrible situation,” as federal and local authorities continue investigating the incident.

Speaking to reporters at the White House after receiving brief updates, Trump said officials were still working to understand the full circumstances and were coordinating across agencies.

“They're giving a briefing on it ...and it's a terrible situation. I've been given some early updates, but we're going to be going back and looking at it very strongly," he told reporters.

His remarks came after a shooting at the mosque in the Clairemont area left five people dead, including two individuals identified as suspected shooters.

Authorities have said the incident is being treated with urgency as investigators review possible motives and circumstances surrounding the attack, while ensuring coordination between law enforcement and federal agencies.
