Turkish, Qatari FMs Review Regional Developments Amid Gulf Tensions

(MENAFN) Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a phone conversation on Monday with Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to discuss recent regional developments, according to Turkish diplomatic sources.

The two officials reportedly focused on ongoing discussions between the United States and Iran, as part of broader diplomatic efforts related to regional stability.

Their exchange took place against the backdrop of heightened tensions in the Gulf, where the United Arab Emirates reported a new wave of missile and drone activity attributed to Iran. The UAE said its air defense systems intercepted multiple incoming projectiles, including ballistic and cruise missiles as well as unmanned aerial vehicles.

Authorities stated that sounds heard in various parts of the country were linked to interception operations carried out by air defense systems responding to incoming threats.

Officials also confirmed that there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage following the incidents.

The developments come amid continued regional volatility, with diplomatic actors closely monitoring escalation risks and ongoing negotiations involving key international stakeholders, according to reports.
