Pakistan Seeks Iran Deadline Extension from Trump, Good News Expected
Citing a regional source, it was noted that “some good news is expected from both sides soon,” with discussions reportedly guided directly by Pakistan’s army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir.
The source added that an agreement could be finalized tonight, according to reports.
This development comes after Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urged the conflicting parties to observe a two-week ceasefire to “allow diplomacy to achieve conclusive termination of war,” as he stated in a post on US social media company X.
Sharif also requested that Trump extend the deadline for Iran by two weeks and that Tehran reopen the Strait of Hormuz during that period.
The White House said Tuesday that Trump “has been made aware of Sharif’s proposed ceasefire” and that “a response will come.”
