Iran Vows Retaliation After US Attacks
In a pre-recorded address, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi emphasized that, "regardless of the extent of the damage incurred," the fundamental nature of what he described as a criminal act—the US assault on Iranian nuclear infrastructure—would provoke a response.
According to US President Donald Trump, American forces on Sunday carried out bombings at three Iranian nuclear sites located in Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan.
Mousavi criticized this action, characterizing it as a desperate move by Trump aimed at rescuing what he called the US proxy in the region—"the Zionist regime"—with specific mention of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Mousavi claimed that “when Trump saw the signs of defeat in Netanyahu, he decided to give him artificial respiration with this action.”
The implication was that Trump acted in an effort to bolster Netanyahu's position amid growing setbacks.
The Iranian military commander further stated that Tehran’s reaction to Israeli aggression would match the scale of the recent US offensives.
“The punishment of Netanyahu will continue with full force until he is brought to destitution,” he declared, vowing ongoing action.
He also warned that Iran “will take action against them (Israel) proportional to the US strikes.”
These developments mark the latest stage in a steadily escalating confrontation, with US-supported Israeli military operations against Iran intensifying since June 13, and prompting Iran to launch counterattacks on Israeli targets.
