Putin Describes Attacks on Iran as Acts of Aggression
“The absolutely unprovoked aggression against Iran has no basis and no justification,” Putin emphasized during a conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Moscow.
Tensions between Israel and Iran have escalated significantly since June 13, following a surprise offensive by Tel Aviv targeting various locations across Iran, including sites linked to the military and nuclear development.
This unexpected strike led Tehran to respond with counterattacks of its own.
Simultaneously, the United States launched strikes on three Iranian nuclear installations early Sunday. President Donald Trump asserted that the offensive caused major destruction and led to their "obliteration."
Putin underscored the enduring and trustworthy relationship shared between Russia and Iran, adding that Moscow's stance regarding the current conflict is already well established.
“For our part, we are making efforts to provide assistance to the Iranian people,” Putin affirmed, requesting the Iranian diplomat to extend his sincere regards to Foreign Minister Masoud Pezeshkian and Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
"I am very glad that you are in Moscow today. This will give us the opportunity to discuss all these sensitive issues and think together about how we can get out of today's situation," he concluded.
