Vance Describes Iran Strike as Limited Defensive Action
Appearing in an interview on Sunday, Vance reiterated that "we’re not at war with Iran – we’re at war with Iran’s nuclear program," branding the night-time raid "a very precise, very surgical" mission that, he asserted, has crippled Tehran’s atomic infrastructure.
Confronting fears that the United States could slide into another drawn-out confrontation, the vice-president said the pivotal factor is today’s leadership.
“I certainly empathize with Americans who are exhausted after 25 years of foreign entanglements in the Middle East,” he stated.
He closed by stressing that "We have no interest in a protracted conflict. We have no interest in boots on the ground," underscoring Washington’s resolve to avoid an extended troop commitment.
